Obituary of Susan Margaret Jacobsen

Susan Margaret Jacobsen, mother, wife and dear friend, passed away on June 3, 2025, at the age of 55. Susan was born on April 11,1970 to Jim and Marjorie (Rogness) Jacobsen and grew up in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis.

Susan graduated from Minnehaha Academy in 1988 and attended Macalester College in St. Paul, where she majored in French and International Studies. Her language skills enabled her to work and continue her education in Europe, where she earned her MBA from Katholieke University in Leuven, Belgium. She returned to Minneapolis in the mid-1990s and began a 30-year career as a management consultant, primarily working in the financial services sector and as an IT product manager for many public, private and non-profit organizations across the Twin Cities.

In 2001, she met David – they attended Macalester at the same time but never met while there – and married the next year. They settled in Longfellow and celebrated the births of their two children, Caroline (in 2005) and Alexander (in 2008). She was an active and supportive member of the Woman’s Club of Minneapolis, where she used her keen intellect and business experience to serve on the club’s guidance committees. She cared deeply about the environment and loved to drive her electric Smart Car convertible. Susan will be especially missed by David, Caroline, Alexander and her friend Renae, who knew she had to meet many challenges but always tried to meet them with grace and good humor.

A Memorial Service will take place at 2PM, THURSDAY, 7/31/25 with Gathering of Family & Friends 1 hour prior, at the Historic Roselawn Chapel, 803 Larpenteur Ave. W., Roseville, MN. Susan’s urn will be placed in the Garden of Remembrance at Roselawn Cemetery immediately following the service.
