Walter Jerome Steinkraus, age 75, Plymouth Minnesota, passed away on June 5th, 2025 at Methodist Hospital.

Walter was born August 25, 1949 in Chicago, IL to Sam and Marian Steinkraus.  He attended Jamestown College and graduated with a degree in Chemistry in 1971.  He attended Hamline University and received a Juris Doctorate degree in 1978.  He practiced law as a patent attorney for many decades.  His favorite hobbies were reading, bicycling and kayaking.

He married Barbara McMillan in 1975.  They adopted 3 beautiful children from Korea.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Marian Steinkraus. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his children Amelia, Ethan Stein (Danielle), William and his grandson Elliott. He is also survived by his siblings Lee, Joy, Norman, Shirley and Pam.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 24th, 2025 at Hamline University's Klass Center from 1-4pm. All are welcome. 

Memorials preferred to Children’s Home Society of Minnesota, Hamline University or Jamestown University.
