Obituary of Rosella Delores Smith
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Rosella Delores Smith, a beloved matriarch, devoted Lutheran, and polka enthusiast. Rosella, age 95, peacefully passed away on June 1st. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep devotion to family, faith, and the joyous sounds of polka music.
Rosella was known for her unwavering love for her family. She was a true homemaker, always making sure everyone felt welcome and loved. She cherished family gatherings, especially the holiday season. Rosella also loved her traveling days, where she explored God's beautiful country.
Beyond family, polka, and traveling, Rosella's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She has been a long-time member of Community of Grace Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake and found solace and community within the church.
Rosella D. Smith is survived by her son, Craig (Kim) Larson, brother, Donald (Jane) Bauer, half-sister JoAnn (Gary) Lorentz, grandchildren, Derek (Amber) & Drake Larson, Desiree (Jesse) Thomas, & Marina Lumsden, great-grandchildren, Roko, Maverick, Marcellus, Scarlett, Jesse Jr, Selena, Trent, and Jack. She was predeceased by parents, Joe and Alma, and sisters, Eleanor, Mavis, & Marlys, Daughter Lynnette (Bob) Lumsden.
A Celebration of Life will be held July 19th, starting with visitation at 10am, following with a service at 11am at Community of Grace Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake, MN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Community of Grace in Rosella's memory.
