Darrel Eugene Richards, age 92 of Milbank SD, passed on June 2, 2025 in Duluth Minnesota.

Darrel grew up on a farm in Southern Minnesota. He graduated from Austin High School and Indiana Technical College. Darrel enlisted in the United States Navy and was very proud of his time served in the Korean War.

Darrel loved hunting and fishing and was always happiest when outdoors. He loved fixing things and was always willing to lend anyone a helping hand when needed.

Darrel is preceded in death by his parents LaVera and Lyle Richards and Raymond Christofferson; also by sister and brother-in-law Muriel and Norman Schwartz, brother and sister-in-law Everett and Ann Richards, brother-in-laws Arthur Sorensen and Tom Paulson, sister and brother-in-law Delores and Ronald Moe, and sister Barbara Deatherage.

Darrel is survived by wife of 55 years, Marian Richards. He is also survived by children Jerome (Lauri) Richards, Christopher (Martha) Richards, Carla (Keith) Brady, Charles (By-Her) Richards, and Andrew (Amanda) Richards as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Frank (Sally) Richards and Floyd Richards as well as sisters Donna Sorensen, Sharon (Keith) Barnes, Phyliss Paulson and Mary (Jim) Herrick.

A service will be held June 9, 2025 at 3 pm at the Veterans Cemetery at Saginaw MN followed by a luncheon at Holy Cross Lutheran Church at 410 North Arlington Avenue.
