Mildred Kallio, age 99 of Duluth peacefully entered Heaven on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Her parents were Ernest and Mildred Moore. She grew up in northern California and graduated from Multnomah Bible School and Chico State College. She taught school in Quincy, California, Fairbanks Alaska, and for twenty-two years, at Lakewood School in Duluth.

Mildred married Arvo Kallio in 1955 and together they raised three daughters. She was a member of Glen Avon Presbyterian Church and its Women’s Association. She was also a former member of the Duluth Fiber Guild and the Duluth Hortus Club.

Preceding her in death were her husband Arvo in 1997, their infant son Ivar in 1957, their daughter Carrie, and two sisters.

Mildred is survived by her daughters, Lisa (David) Mesedahl, Janet (Donald) Husby her grandson Joffet Husby, two sisters and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glen Avon Presbyterian Church of Duluth, MN, the Salvation Army, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be gratefully received.
