Obituary of Antoinette Acine Haddad
Antoinette Acine Haddad (Koury)
Antoinette (Toni) Haddad, born in Brooklyn, New York, 82, died May 29, 2025, having many beautiful final moments with her closest family. Preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Therese Koury, and her siblings Ann Dowd and John Koury.
Toni graduated from St. Savior All Girls Catholic High School in Brooklyn, New York in 1960 and attended Secretary school, working on Wall Street. She married Richard Haddad in 1969 and they, with their children, moved from Brooklyn, New York to Maple Grove, Minnesota in 1979.
In Minnesota, as a mother to 3 young children, she formed strong connections with families within the community and her children’s school. She was the weekly “art lady” teaching lessons to students about various art pieces, was an avid member of the parent community in the schools, and enjoyed hosting guests for dinner, playing cards, and traveling. Toni was a friendly, generous, and charismatic person whose Catholic faith provided a foundation of hope and healing.
In Toni’s later years, she took deep pride and purpose as a Grandma to her 5 beloved grandchildren, Gab, Isandro, Maya, Ben and Aman, and great nephew, Ryan Tumulty. A recent picture or update about her grandchildren or nephew was present in nearly all her interactions with people. Toni truly knew no stranger - and was Grandma Toni to a number of other young, precious people.
In recent years, she was a resident of Miller’s Landing and created connections in her time there. She received exceptional care from Dr. Kiran Lassi and the team at the U of MN.
She is survived by her children, Kirk Haddad (wife and daughter-in-law Genna, and Toni's two grandchildren, Gabriella and Benjamin), Mark Haddad (wife and daughter-in-law Shilpa, and Toni's grandson Aman) and Christina Gonzalez (husband and son-in-law Isidro, and Toni's two grandchildren, Isandro and Maya).
A cherished mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who touched the lives of many people. She will be deeply missed by all.
A visitation at 2pm and service at 3pm will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota in Minneapolis on Friday, June 6th 2025. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude's Hospital for Children. For more information, click here.
