Obituary of Verna Deanne Eddy

Verna Deanne Albrecht Lind Eddy passed away on May 19, 2025 at the age of 96. She was a resident of Aurora on France, Edina, MN.

Verna was born in Turtle Lake, North Dakota, the fifth of six children of Andrew and Martha (Broeckle) Albrecht.

Verna graduated from Bismarck High School, attended secretarial school, worked at Northwest Telephone Company, Bismark License Bureau where she met Julius S. Lind. They were married in 1949 at the Baptist church when her grandfather Rev. Emanuel Broeckle served as minister.

Verna was smart, energetic and beautiful (inside and out). Verna was photographed and modeled for local fashion shows. She belonged to Minnesota BPW (business and profession women) and other work-related organizations in Texas. She worked for various businesses, Paine Webber Investments, The Lind Piano and Organ Company, St. Paul, MN, C G Rein, George Mikans Viking Travel agency and as a licensed real estate agent in Minnesota and Turnquist ,Texas. Verna was a role-model for the next generation of women.

Verna’s faith was important to her, belonging to the Lakeway Church in Austin, Texas and earlier Macalester Presbyterian Church in St. Paul, MN.

Preceded in death by her husbands Herbert Eddy and Julius S. Lind.

Survived by her children, Deborah (Kastanek) Lind and Julianne (Andre) Montgomery and Gary Eddy (Jackie), grandchildren, John (Jana) and Andrianna Kastanek (Chris Buzachero), Lien (Katie) Sarles and Steven (Kristi) Sarles, Andrew (Kirsten) Montgomery .

She has 13 great-grandchildren, Jakob, Mitchell, Laura, Camille Kastanek,

Luca, Emilia, and Nicolas Buzachero; Lien, Harrison Sarles; Ellie, Soren, Lukas, Boden Sarles.

She treasured them all equally and will be greatly missed.

Visitation and service: Family and friends will celebrate her life on July 24 at the First Presbyterian Church, 719 Nevada Street, P.O. Box 866, St. Croix Falls, WI. Refreshments following the service.
