Obituary of Michael David Hurley

Michael David Hurley, 83, born July 17, 1941, in Minneapolis, Minnesota passed away suddenly in his home on May 25, 2025. He was a beloved father, uncle, and friend. 

Mike, as he was affectionately known, worked his way through school at the Academy of Accountancy and was employed as an accountant and CPA right up until his passing. He was a compassionate and caring person who was always ready to help those in need. Through the ups and downs in his life he never gave up and continued to move forward. His passing leaves a huge void in the hearts of his family and all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. 

Mike is survived by his son, Scott (LuAnn) Hurley, nephew John (Lisa) Morast, niece Virginia Meter, niece Hillary (Ted) Woods, nephew Michael (Barbara) Hurley, nephew Pedar (Crystal) Staley, nephew Paige Staley, and niece GayleMarie Staley, as well as many extended family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Delores Hurley, brother John Allen Hurley, sister Janet Crownover, brother Tom Hurley, sister Joan Morast, and nephew David Wagoner.

A simple gathering of family and friends with military salute will take place at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Date and time are pending and will be forthcoming.
