Obituary of Roger A Schilling

SCHILLING, Roger A., passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025 at Hayden Grove Memory Care located in St. Anthony, MN.  He was born October 14, 1935 in Sherwood, WI.

He is survived by wife, Darlyne (Witty Hart) of 34 years; daughter, Susan Jordan; grandchildren, Andrew (Alicia), Alex (Megan) and Annie; Brother, Leon (Marge); sister-in-law, Millie Schilling and brother in-law, Don Herbeck; extended family - David (Judy) Hart, Kelli (Jay) Hart, LeeAnn (Craig) Milde, Susan (Paul) Pawlyshyn; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; Brothers and Sisters-in-laws; Bob (Jo) Witty, Buz (Marlene) Witty, Jim (Joan) Witty, Marilyn (Witty), Jeanne Witty and Sandy (Ken) Krenik.  Preceded in death by parents, Amelia and Emery Schilling; son, Kenneth; sister, Carol Herbeck and brother, Edward Schilling.  Roger graduated from California State Polytechnic College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.  He was in the Army, stationed at Fort Bliss, Tx and worked with the Atlas Missile Program.  He was an employee of Honeywell for 29 years as an Engineer in the Residential Combustion Div.  He had numerous accomplishments while working at Honeywell including five patents.  Upon retirement, Roger and Darlyne traveled the United States and Canada as a Technology Consultant for Honeywell.  He always looked forward to the times when the "Tuscon Kid", Sue, would come for a visit.  Roger also enjoyed golfing with the Honeywell retirees, fishing and was very active in the New Brighton Stockyard Days and became Grand Marshall.  Being from Wisconsin, he was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed playing the card game "500" with Hazel and the Witty family.  Special thanks to Hollywood, an Aide at Hayden, for her extra care of Roger. 

Memorial Service 11AM Monday, June 23 at North Heights Lutheran Church, Roseville Campus, 2701 N Rice St, Roseville with visitation 1 hour before service.  Private interment Fort Snelling.    cremationsocietyofmn.com
