Darcianne (Hillhouse) Siefkes passed away peacefully at her home on May 7, 2025, after fighting a nine-month battle with lung cancer. Darci was born December 24, 1953, in Ottumwa, Iowa, daughter of Betty Jean (Hyde) and James Hillhouse. She is preceded in death by her parents. 

She is survived by her brother Jamey; her husband Timothy; their daughter Caitlin and son-in-law Jason; and grandchildren Sally and William. 

Darci was a graduate of Coon Rapids High School and attended Anoka-Ramsey Community College. Darci had a career in Learning and Development, creating and managing training programs. She worked at the Hay Group (human resource consultants); as a Learning & Development Manager at US Bancorp Piper Jaffray (finance); and finally, as a Training Specialist at Minnetronix (medical device manufacturer) until her retirement in 2018.

Darci loved spending time with her family and friends, who appreciated her humor, playfulness, and a sense of adventure. She and her family enjoyed many years together camping, cross-country skiing, canoeing, riding horses, and boating on Forest Lake where she and Tim lived for the last 19 years. Darci enjoyed using her creativity and sewing skills to make everything from Halloween costumes and clothes for her family to holiday crafts both sentimental and silly. In recent years, Darci and Tim could often be found at Universal Orlando theme parks, enjoying their happy place together sipping mai tais by the pool, going on The Mummy Ride, and anticipating the opening of the new "churro stand" (aka Velocicoaster). 

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Minnehaha United Methodist Church, 3701 E. 50th St, Mpls, MN. 

There will be time to share personal reflections and memories during the service.

There will be a reception following with more music, stories, appetizers, desserts, wine and beer, coffee and tea afterward in the community room of the 5th Avenue Lofts in Minneapolis, 401 N 2nd St. 

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be sent to the American Cancer Society or to your local animal shelter.
