Obituary of Beverly Margaret Moran

Beverly Margaret Moran passed away on May 13 2025. Unfortunately, while out with a friend, she fell, broke her wrist, hit her head and landed in the hospital for observation and treatment. Consequently, she suffered a severe stroke and passed away at Southdale Hospital at the age of 96.

She was a resident of Minnesota and she was born on September 26, 1928 in Minneapolis. She was the loving daughter of Thomas G. Moran and Juel F. Colwell Moran.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Antle (Roy), partner Phyllis Michelson (1990) and partner Betty Byrne (2020).

She is survived by her brother Thomas S. Moran (Arlyne) as well as a niece and 2 nephews, 10 great and 15 great, great nieces and nephews.

Beverly earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Minnesota. She was initially employed by Catholic Charities as a social worker and later by the State of Minnesota, where she was in charge of  licensing day care centers until she retired in 1990.

In her younger years she enjoyed many outdoor activities - camping in the Boundary Waters, fishing, deer hunting with her family, and Dude ranch vacations, as well as weekends at her cabin near Castle Danger on Lake Superior.  After retirement, she spent winters in Florida, walking the beach, collecting so many shells that were used to create art pieces. Later she wintered in Apache Junction, Arizona, cruised to Hawaii and traveled throughout the USA and internationally to Norway and Ireland.  She was fortunate to enjoy relatively good health; however, she became frustrated with decreased vision issues but was proud of passing her eye test to maintain her driver's license for short trips to Cub food and a haircut.  She really liked going to several theater productions and her music interests ranged from opera to country western.

She loved her church and her many friends. She was a proud Irish woman with a good sense of humor and a generous heart.
