Obituary of Gregory Vincent Ross
Greg was born in Minneapolis, MN. He lived there until his family moved to Bloomington, MN. There he attended Portland Junior High, made several good friends, and graduated from Kennedy High School in 1969.
Greg loved all kinds of music and played saxophone. He was drum major for Kennedy’s marching band and played in Normandale’s concert band until he graduated.
He made more fast friends and ended up playing with some of them in a great wedding band, The Emeralds, throughout his younger adult years.
Greg met Jean Hartmann through a mutual friend, and played with her in the Chaska summer band. They dated, became engaged, married July 5, 1974, and bought their home in Bloomington.
Greg was surprised to find himself father to six children in a period of seven years. Those were busy times, but he loved it.
He was a devoted son and brother, a loving husband, father, and loyal friend.
He worked his entire career at Ziegler, Inc. in several management positions, retiring in 2016.
By this time Greg was diagnosed with a rarer type of Alzheimer’s which curtailed the life he’d planned from there.
We were fortunate to be able to keep him home with us all those years. We miss him deeply.
