Obituary of Violet Virginia Armstrong
Ginny Armstrong, age 84, of St. Paul, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, May 7, 2025 at Lexington Landing in St. Paul.
Ginny was preceded in death by her parents Addison & Violet Van de Vere, brothers Harold (Merilyn) Van de Vere, and Bud (Sue) Van de Vere.
Ginny is survived by her husband of 65 years Gary, daughter Allison Knostman (Wes) of Houston TX, daughter Becky Borene (John) of Blaine, daughter Kate Carlson (Scott) of Eden Prairie, son Brian Armstrong (Tina) of Blaine; grandchildren Jacob & Max Knostman, Rachel Hsiao, Emily Ylvisaker, Natalie Borene, Zack & Ryan Armstrong, Matthew Carlson, Sarah Karl, Abby Resch, and Jack Armstrong; four great grandchildren (Kaiser, Ford, Miles and Auggie); sisters-in-law Nancy Nordeen and Kathy Armstrong; brother-in-law Bruce Armstrong.
Ginny was born February 12, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN and graduated from Wayzata High School. After her kids were raised, she completed a Travel Agent program at Dakota County Tech and owned Travel Time travel agency. She grew up in Wayzata and also lived in Arvada, CO; Spring Lake Park; Shoreview; and Lexington Landing for her last two years.
Ginny had a great passion for gardening, traveling, and was a long-time member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Service Saturday, June 21 at LEXINGTON LANDING, 900 Old Lexington Ave S., St. Paul, MN. 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. visitation. 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. sharing memories of Ginny.
Ginny will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff of Lexington Landing in St. Paul for their love and support over the last 2 years, there have been some incredible people who have supported Ginny and her family, and we are forever grateful.
