Obituary of Gene John Horbal

85 of Rockford, MN passed away Friday May 9th at North Memorial Hospital of heart failure. 

Gene was a proud member of the United States Air Force, serving for 30 years.  Stationed in bases all over the US and overseas.  Gene enjoyed cars, building model airplanes and reading.

Survived by his wife Barbara Jean Horbal, son John (Melissa Gould), grandson Lucas, daughters Laurie Eckstrum, Sheryl Horbal, step-daughters Robin Herfert, grandson Lt. Jacob Hyzy USAF, Cindy Bowman (Bill). 

Preceded in death by parents and bother Bill.

In lieu of a formal service read a book to a child or share a meal with a senior who usually dines alone.

Memorials preferred to Minneapolis Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
