Paula Pascutoi

Obituary of Paula Pascutoi

Paula Pascutoi, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend of many, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, at the age of 94.

Paula began her life journey in Kaltenlautsch, Czechoslovakia on February 9, 1931.  Her life was a tapestry of a rich history: a childhood in what was then Sudetenland Czechoslovakia, a forced displacement to Germany after WWII, immigration to Canada and then to the United States, proudly becoming an American citizen.  Along the way, she shared her challenges and adventures with others, who found inspiration in her fortitude.

She found immense happiness in the simple pleasures of spending time with her family and friends. We will miss her compassion, wise words, delicious European cooking, and stories of the “Old Country”.

Paula was preceded in death by her husband, Mihail Pascutoi, her mother, Pauline Steinmetz and father, Franz Hekele. She is survived by her loving family: her children Brigitte Pascutoi Parker (Quinton), Victor Pascutoi (Joanne) and Ken Pascutoi (Nancy); her grandchildren, Alex Ottenheimer (Alex), Natalie Stasi (Jordan) and Michael Pascutoi (Melanie); her great- grandchildren Leo and Max Ottenheimer.

A graveside service will take place on May 24, 2025, at 11:00 am at Oakland Cemetery, 75 Sycamore St. East, St. Paul MN 55117.  Meet inside the main gate on Sycamore St. at 10:45 am.

Following the service, family and friends are invited to an open reception from 1 pm to 4 pm at Ken and Nancy’s home.
