Obituary of Phillip Darryll Blocker

Phillip Darryll Blocker passed away on May 5th, 2025 in his home at the age of 65.

Born on Oct. 6th, 1959 to Otis and Mary Blocker, he is survived by his sisters Beth and Li, and his younger brother Sean. Phillip was the loving father of his daughter Marisa and her husband Nick, son Elias, and daughter Aleina. Together with his partner Sherri, they raised their family for many years in the suburbs of Lakeville, MN until he finally settled in Bloomington, MN.

Phil spent much of his life working in the steel and welding industry and was an avid lover of history, “country western culture “, and music. Anyone who knew him will remember his smile, exuberance, dedication to his family, and ability to capture moments in time with stories. He had an irreplaceable spirit that longed to travel, and he spent his last years making up for lost time through road trips, old friendships, and the companionship of his dog, Edgar.

Above all else, he adored his many grandchildren, Hayden, Keira, Esmae, Noah, Graysen, Kaycee, Arianna, Chase, and Isabella. They were the light of his life, and he was proud to be their “Poppy”.

Phillip will be cremated following a private viewing at 11am, hosted at the Monarch Crematory in Bloomington, MN with cremation arrangements under the direction of the Cremation Society of Minnesota.
