Strong, Gregory Stephen

Age 80 of Mendota Heights and Eagan. Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather died on May 4, 2025 surrounded by his family. 

Preceded in death by parents, Nora and Stan Strong.

Survived by wife, Betty; sons, Mark (Craig) (special family friend, Jurene), David and Kevin (Pauline);

four grandchildren, Ronan, Nova, Antoinette and Daphne; sister, Gretchen; brother-in-law, Bill.

Greg came to Minnesota in 1966 after growing up in Oregon and California to attend graduate school at the University of MN. Here, he met Betty and they were married in 1967. 

Greg was a Math graduate of Stanford University. He worked one summer in MN as an actuarial intern at MN Mutual Life Insurance and loved the actuarial program. He retired from Securian Financial Group in St. Paul in 2009.

He felt privileged to have served on the Regions and HealthPartners Board of Directors for many years. 

He was an avid reader, technology geek, hiker and traveler. But, most of all, he loved and enjoyed his family.

We are going to miss him so much.

A family service will be held in the Fall on what would have been Betty and Greg's 58th Wedding Anniversary.
