Obituary of Karen Louise Snapko
Karen Louise Snapko was the first-born child of Philip and Katherine Muck of Minneapolis, MN – born on May 25, 1943. Karen was a friend to so many people. Everyone loved her and it’s what she cared about the most throughout her life – being with her family and friends. She raised two sons with her beloved husband, Lee, of 46 years and spent 20 years in the Osseo school district working with special-needs children – something she excelled at. She was proud of her Ukrainian heritage and spent many holidays preparing authentic Ukrainian cuisine (something she learned from her mother and grandmother) for family and friends. Later in her life, her focus was on her 7 beautiful grandchildren and her amazing great-grandson. Nothing was more important to her. A two-time cancer survivor, Karen never let that get in the way of spending time with the people she loved, watching her favorite movies on TCM, and chatting on the phone with her friends. She passed away peacefully on April 23rd at her home of 59 years surrounded by her loving family. Her positive energy, good-spirits, and great sense of humor will be missed by so many of us. Preceded in death by her husband, Lee (2012), she is survived by her children Bill (Ellen) and Jim (Trista), as well as her 7 grandchildren - Kyzr (fiancé Kylee), Ailee, Stella, Maeve, Anna (fiancé Jake), Clare, Kéira, great-grandson Lucian, sister Patti (Peter) Giese, nieces Tasha (Tom) and Jessi, and godfather/uncle Jim Dzandzara. A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, May 24 at 11:00 AM at Church of the Epiphany, 4900 Nathan Ln N, Plymouth MN 55442. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Memorials to the family, the Church of the Epiphany, or the American Cancer Society.
