Obituary of Betty A. Miller

Betty A. Miller passed away at Edgewood Memory Care in Hermantown, MN on April 22,2025. She was born on October 15, 1938 in Duluth to Charles and Ingrid Larsen.

Betty graduated from Proctor High School in 1956, where she was homecoming queen and a majorette.

She married James Miller in 1959 raising three sons, Michael, Bradley, and Richard.

They relocated from Proctor to a new home in the Morgan Park neighborhood in 1963. Betty remained there after her husband passed away in 1997, eventually moving to the Duluth Heights senior living facility in 2022. 

Her working years were mainly spent in the banking industry. She considered herself lucky to work the last 25 years at the neighborhood Park State Bank. 

Betty and family enjoyed camping with friends and relatives in central MN and N.W. Wisconsin. They then decided to settle down in a seasonal campground in Sturgeon Lake MN. She also spent time planting flowers outside around her home and garage.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband James Miller, parents Charles and Ingrid (Rude) Larsen, siblings Corrine Larsen, Charlene White, Raymond Larsen, Robert Larsen, and Dorothy Parker.

Betty is survived by sons Mike(Joy), Brad (Julie), Rick (Tera), grandsons Andrew, Matthew(Carli), Corey, and Brandon (Kyrah), along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was also blessed to have welcomed into her life her first 2 great grandchildren, Waylen and Lyla, in the past 2 years.

Thank you to the Duluth Heights Lodge, Edgewood Memory Care and CaringEdge Hospice care for the comfort and care they provided mom over the last two and a half years.

A graveside service was held at Oneota Cemetary.
