Lorna enjoyed volunteering throughout her retirement years, devoting over 19 years of volunteer service as a front desk receptionist at local hospitals. Her time spent at the YMCA and the friendships she made there were of great importance to her. Reading and watching professional & collegiate sports along with news events filled her days and generated many interesting conversations. She always enjoyed catching up with an old friend on the phone.
She loved her family and kept up with their activities through visits, phone calls, texts and social media. Her world expanded even more with the introduction of an iPhone and iPad. She was an eager student and never tired of learning new ways to keep up with news, events and the latest trends through her newfound technology.
Special recognition to the kind people of Oak Meadows Assisted Living Community for the close bonds created over her nearly 11 years of residency. They truly became her second family and provided her with a wonderful quality of life. Her presence will be missed in the exercycle room and along the hallways where she made frequent exercise laps, always stopping to chat with a neighbor and offering a friendly ear.
A private family Memorial Mass will be held on May 2nd at Guardian Angels Church, Oakdale, MN. Lorna supported many charities including ChildrensCancer.Org and StJude.Org, however memorials can be sent to your favorite charity with the family’s sincere appreciation.
