Obituary of Marley Mickelsen
In Loving Memory of
Marley Micklsen
It is with unimaginable sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son Marley John Mickelsen who died tragically in a car accident on April 15th, 2025, at the age of 18. Marley was a bright light in our lives – full of promise, kindness and joy. His time with us was far too short, but his impact will be felt forever.
Marley was born the youngest of three siblings on March 31st, 2007, to Brian Mickelsen and Sharlene (Avery) Mickelsen in Maplewood, Minnesota. He grew up in Lino Lakes, Minnesota, where he attended Rice Lake Elementary. He then attended the Centennial Middle and High schools, where he participated in youth football. He was set to graduate high school this June 2025.
Marley was the center of everyone’s lives. Even from a very young age, Marley was able to connect with and make an impression on people he had barely even met. Everyone knew Marley. He was the most magnetic, charismatic and caring young man you’d ever know. Also known for his humor and wit, just a flash of his cheeky grin and his infectious laugh could brighten anyone’s day. Most noteworthy, though, was his heart and his genuine care and love for people.
Marley grew up fishing, hunting and taking trips with his family. He loved snowboarding, animals, art, and sports just to name a few. Always seeking thrills and activity, he spent a lot of his time on his snowboard shredding slopes at Trollhaugen, as well as spending quality time with his family and friends. He had his sights on travel, and he hoped to one day go snowboarding in Japan and see the Cherry Blossoms bloom.
Because he was such a positive presence, it makes his temporary absence all the more heartbreaking. We hold dear in our hearts the promise that the Bible assures us at Revelation 21:3,4, of the resurrection hope, when we will welcome back our dear Marley, very soon.
Marley is preceded in death by Grandfather Clifford Avery.
Marley is survived by parents Brian Mickelsen and Sharlene (Avery) Mickelsen, brother Joseph (Shelby) Mickelsen, sister Hallie (Ahmad) Sati, grandparents Linda and Robert Ringdahl, John Mickelsen, Grace Strong, aunts & uncles: Celena (Paul), Tiffany (Tee), Kim (Craig), Kelly, cousins: Erika (Jesse), Sam (Makayla), Sydney, Aaron, Martin, Avriona, Joshua, Tom (Nancy) and loved by many of his little cousins whom he loved spending his time with, relative, friends and pets.
In loving memory of Marley please join us for a visitation and informal gathering as we honor and celebrate his life. This will be a time to share stories, memories and love. Come as you are – friends, family and all whose lives Marley touched are Welcome.
Friday May 9th from 4 – 7pm located at Trollhaugen Event Center 2232 100th Ave, Dresser, WI 54009
