Obituary of Robert Philip Giguere

Robert Giguere (Bob) of Victoria, Minnesota passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025 at the age of 84. 

He is preceded in death by parents, Robert L. and Helen (Kreber) Giguere.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosemary, daughter, Kari Anne Veasaw (Jim), son, Anthony (AJ) Giguere (Michelle), grandchildren, Ryan and Danielle Giguere, brother Paul Giguere (Pamela), and sister Emilie Giguere (Ted).

Bob was born in Minneapolis on November 7, 1940. He was a graduate of DeLaSalle High School and the University of Minnesota. Bob began his long and successful teaching career in 1962 at Waconia High School, and in 1966 started teaching German and English at Minnetonka Senior High School. He thoroughly enjoyed his students, they knew him as “Herr Giguere”. He took them on many travel study trips to Germany. Bob and Rosemary traveled abroad extensively and eventually became Arizona snowbirds. Bob enjoyed golfing, especially with “the Fun Bunch” at Island View Golf Club in Waconia. Above all, Bob loved his family and was very proud of children Kari and AJ and adored his grandchildren, Ryan and Danielle. 

 A memorial gathering will take place on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm noon at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Avenue S., Edina.

Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at Gethsemane Cemetery at 8151 N. 42nd Avenue, New Hope.
