Obituary of Tom Ondracek

Thomas James Ondracek, known as Tommy O or Tom to those who loved him, passed away on April 16, 2025, at the age of 81 after a courageous battle with cancer. He died surrounded by love and his family.

Tom was born on April 5, 1944, in North Bend Nebraska, to Anton and Libby (Hines) Ondracek. Tom later owned and ran multiple meat packing plants until his move to Duluth MN where he had a lifetime career at Upper Lakes Foods and worked until his retirement where he then worked part-time in the cafeteria for the Cloquet, MN school District.  Tom met the love of his life Lorrie, and they were married for 35 years.  Tom will forever be remembered by his wife Lorrie Ondracek, Son Tony Ondracek, (Sarah), Daughter Tracey David, Daughter Christine Johnson (Dennis) Daughter Stephanie Schubitzke (Larry) Daughter Patrice Langlee (Chris) 15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. 

Tom was an active member of the Jester’s club.  He was also an active member of the Mason and Shriners Drum and Bugle core.  He brought so much joy and happiness helping Minnesota Children Shiners Hospital and joy and happiness to the men and women who served with him.  Tom was also an avid outdoors man.  He loved fishing and hunting.  Tom was a natural party planner and planed many fishing and hunting trips for his friends and family.  Those memories will remain with them for years to come.  Tommy O will be missed, his joyful spirt, sparkling eyes and wisdom will be carried throughout our lives.  He was a true friend to all.
