Obituary of Junior Stokes Perry
Junior Stokes Perry, a devoted husband, cherished family man, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, at the age of 87 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
Born on January 19, 1938, in Elwood, Kansas, Junior was the son of Len Perry and Maxine Gorman. He moved to Minneapolis in the mid-1950s to begin work at Armour Packing Company. His strong work ethic and dedication led him to a long and fulfilling career with Delta Airlines, where he eventually retired in 2004.
Junior shared 67 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Kaye Perry. Their marriage was a testament to love, commitment, and companionship, serving as an inspiration to all who knew them.
He was known for his genuine care and compassion for everyone he encountered. Junior had a warmth that made him everyone’s favorite, always bringing joy and kindness wherever he went. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, and barbequing—activities that brought him great happiness and created countless cherished memories.
Junior leaves behind his wife, Kaye Perry, and a loving family who will continue to honor his memory: Children: Maxine Perry and Len Perry; Grandchildren: David (Lamar) Jones (wife Jamie) and Raymond (Bryce) Jones, Darren Perry (wife Thu); Great-grandchildren: Dahlia (husband Alex), Ailea, Nya, and Simone Jones, Moné Perry, and August Banh Perry; Great-great-grandchild: Sunny Jones-Hawton; A host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Len Perry and Maxine Gorman, and his brother, Donald E. Perry.
Junior will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, generosity, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 12th at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 500 Blake Road South, Edina, MN 55343.
