Obituary of Milo David Hartman
Milo David Hartman fell asleep in death peacefully on March 28, 2025 at the age of seventy. He was a longtime resident of Burnsville, MN.
Born November 21, 1954 in Stillwater, MN to Virginia and Andrew Hartman. Later at a early age he was lovingly raised by his mom and stepfather Alton Hensel in Akeley, MN.
Milo is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years Lynn, his children Matthew (Allison) and Michael. His siblings Larry (Carol) Hartman, Colleen (Danny) Knowles, Steve Hartman, Char (Stan) Chase, Dale (Dawn) Hensel, his sister-in-law “Loren’s” Barb and his mother-in-law Myrna Krzyzaniak.
Milo is proceeded in death by his parents Virginia and Alton Hensel, his siblings Dan Hensel, Randy and Randy’s wife Barb Hartman, Loren Hartman and his father-in-law Ted Krzyzaniak.
Milo was the 4th in line of a family of 9 children. He had many fond memories of growing up in such a large family. In his younger days he loved to deer hunt with his stepfather Alton, his many brothers, uncles, cousins and later when he became a father with his son Matthew.
His nicknames when growing up were Smilo because of his smile and later Bear because of his full facial hair.
The year 1975 was important for Milo, he married his wife Lynn and he also was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Milo faithfully spent time in the ministry every month for over 50 years. He found great joy in helping others learn Bible truths and was active in the ministry up until the day he died. He also had the privilege to volunteer his time and professional carpentry skills every summer helping with Kingdom Hall construction projects. He headed up the siding crew for many years and helped to build or remodel over 35 Kingdom Halls in the tri-state area.
During Covid Milo with the help of his family took on the responsibility of being the literature depot for his congregation. The dining room table became the literature counter with plenty of tracts, books, WT, AW and so forth making sure all in the congregation could safely have easy access to literature for themselves and the community.
Milo owned and operated his own construction business and was privileged to work along side his son Matthew for over 25 years.
Milo found great joy in providing for his family spiritually, physically and emotionally. He made sure weekly congregation meetings, the ministry, and annual conventions took priority.
He loved to travel with his family and friends and had the opportunity to vacation in Florida, Hawaii, California, Washington D.C., Mexico, London, Paris and Rome to name a few. He also took his family on spring and fall day trips, driving along the river bluffs being surrounded by all the beautiful scenic views of creation. He happily did dishes, baked cookies and upon request made popcorn every Sunday night. He was always generous with his words of appreciation his “thank you’s” and his “I love you’s”.
He will be remembered for his kind and mild nature, his generous spirit, his willingness to help others, his hard work ethic, and his deep love for Jehovah God.
