Obituary of Carolyn Jane Narveson
Carolyn Jane Narveson, 64, passed away on March 28th, 2025, with her family by her side, following complications from lung cancer.
Carolyn (“Carrie”) was born to Theodore and Lila Sramek in Denver, CO. One of nine children, Carrie grew up with a strong sense of family and a deep work ethic.
Her work ethic carried into her career. Carrie spent over two decades working as a Culinary Manager with Orono and Wayzata Public Schools. She found great fulfillment in building relationships with her students and watching them grow, often sharing stories about them with her family.
Carrie survived by Sheridan, her loving husband of the past 45 years; her children Tyler (Rachel) Narveson of Greenfield, and Jessica (Michael) Affeldt of St. Louis Park; and her three grandchildren Emilia and Benny Narveson, and Theodore Affeldt. She is also survived by her mother Lila Sramek; her 8 siblings Cindy (Roger) Ordway, Chris Parsek, Greg (Rosa) Sramek, James (Amal) Sramek, Andy (Boonyaluck Burakom) Sramek, Lorrie (Keith) Johnson, Becky (Phil) Ray and Jenny (Greg) Kapela; and her many cherished nieces and nephews.
Carrie’s family was her shining light, and she was most proud of her title as Grandma. Emilia, Benny and Teddy were spoiled by Grandma’s presents, cookies and acts of love.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Mayo Clinic Lung Cancer team for their exceptional care of Carrie over the past 13 months. Their compassion and dedication were truly unmatched.
