Obituary of Jon Killian

Jonathan "Jon" Killian, age 79, of Cloquet, died at St. Mary's Medical Center with his immediate family by his side. 

He will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, his patience, his gentle spirit, and willingness to help others without complaint. 

His entire career centered around vehicle repairs and upkeep, having retired from the city of Duluth as a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks on his own time and was also an avid collector of 5 classic cars of which his 55' Chev was his favorite. Much of his time was spent attending car shows and auto swaps meets with his son and wife. He also enjoyed travel having made numerous trips with his wife to Tennessee and Arkansas to listen to Bluegrass Music.  

Most of his enjoyments were interrupted by worsening Parkinson's symptoms. During this time he acquired a different set of wheels, his beloved scooter, in which he spent time on long rides (hikes), sometimes 3 miles with his wife. 

He is survived by his wife, Eileen Christie, his son, Joseph Killian, sister, Barb Hegg, brother Rick Killian, and numerous in-laws, cousins, and nieces & nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Anne Killian, his brother Tim Killian and sister Margaret "Peg" Hargraves.
