Obituary of Lynn Hartman

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Lynn Hartman of Cromwell, MN. Lynn died peacefully at home on March 28th in the loving care of her husband of 45 years, Doug Hartman after a valiant fight with cancer. She was 66.

Lynn and Doug were high school sweethearts, meeting in their sophomore year at Richfield High School. They lived most of their lives in Prior Lake, where Lynn cut, colored, and styled hair for over 30 years, owning Shear Performers Salon. Doug worked most of his career with the City of Prior Lake in Public Works and the Prior Lake Fire Department, completing his service as Fire Chief. He defines Lynn’s support during this time as paramount, and together, Lynn and Doug were immersed in community events and organizations.

They loved spending time at their beautiful home in Credit River Township, where they enjoyed the peace and quiet of nature on their spacious property. They raised dogs, cats, bunnies, and anything else that entered the yard. Over 100 trees were planted, four-wheelers and golf carts were ridden, and friends and family were welcomed.

Doug and Lynn retired in 2017 and purchased a home on Eagle Lake in Cromwell, where they fully embraced Minnesota summers with time on the pontoon and deck gatherings with neighbors and friends. Another highlight was winter trips to Florida to spend time with Darcy, Steve, and Jacob.

Lynn was a wonderful wife, mother, and sister. Her love and devotion to her family will always be remembered, along with her vivacious spirit, infectious smile, sparkling blue eyes, love of nature, and fondness for a good cocktail.

Lynn is survived by her husband, Doug; children, Jacob Hartman and Darcy (Steve) Sahel; brother Jim Thompson (Dan); sister-in-law Pat Burke (Jerry), and brother-in-law, Rick (Sara). She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Clarence Thompson, Doug’s parents, Harry and Dorothy Hartman, and siblings, Sara Griep and Chuck Hartman.
