Obituary of Indu Garg
Indu Garg, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on March 26, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on April 9, 1948, to Krishna Chandra Gupta and Shanti Devi, Indu lived a life filled with warmth, kindness, and boundless love.
Indu completed her schooling at Raghumal Arya Girls Secondary School, where she distinguished herself as a bright and ambitious student and was the first woman in her family to study science. Encouraged by her father, she pursued medicine, earning her MBBS degree from the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi, graduating in the class of 1966. Indu practiced medicine for a few months before deciding to devote herself fully to nurturing her family.
Indu had a rich creative life, taking joy from culture, books, and art. Her great love of reading (notably mystery, horror, classics, British literature), listening and singing along to classic Hindi songs, and watching all genres of movies and tv shows were strong driving forces in her life. Notably, she was also a very talented artist who enjoyed sketching and painting beautiful character studies.
Indu was married to Satya Garg for over 50 years and together they created a loving home. She is remembered and deeply missed by her surviving siblings, Pradeep, Prakash, and Manju; her children Sarika, Akash, and Aseem; her daughters-in-law Anu and Anjuli, her son-in-law Keith; her grandchildren Jayan, Ahana, Ilan, Amara, and Sophie; extended family, and countless friends whose lives she profoundly touched. Her journey continues as she reunites with her late siblings Prem, Vimal, Nirmal, and Praveen.
Indu’s vibrant spirit touched everyone who knew her. She had a special love for giving thoughtful gifts to those around her, always finding joy in making others feel cherished. She will remain in our hearts forever.
