Obituary of Veronica Ann Kennedy
Veronica Ann Kennedy, born June 9, 1937, Morris, Minnesota and passed away March 23, 2025. Daughter of John Joseph Kennedy and Mary Enid Hicok Kennedy. Beloved sister of Margaret Kennedy Leitner of Mineral, Virginia, she was one of seven children, and all, but Margaret, predecease her: Cecelia (Floyd) Linstad, John Francis Kennedy, Elizabeth A. Kennedy, Johanna (Paul) Fragodt, Patrick Joseph Kennedy. She is also survived by nieces: Diana Linstad and Diana McNamara of Yakima, Washington, nephew: David Linstad of Yakima, Washington; nieces: Debra Pendergrass, Billings, Montana; Jenny Kennedy Chatfield and Cary Kennedy Alleman of Gillette, Wyoming.
Our family farmed in Stevens County Minnesota for many years then moved to Morris, Minnesota, where John J. Kennedy retired. Veronica attended District 28, Cyrus & Morris High Schools, graduating in 1955 from Morris High School.
She worked at Title Insurance and several other data entry jobs, living in Minneapolis, Minnesota except for a short period of time in Washington, D.C. where she was employed by National Geographic.
There will be no service, at her request. Anyone wishing to remember her can donate to an animal rescue organization. She loved animals and raised many cats from kittens, who lived their whole lives with her. She fed wild birds, cared for a brother’s dog and my cat while I lived in Australia. She had a knack and kind heart for animal welfare and care and was always there when I needed her as well.
I wish to thank the Visiting Angels of St. Louis Park, Mn and especially an individual Angel, Colleen Anderson, who made my sister feel special and who went out of her way to ease the last days of Veronica’s life and has helped in countless other ways. Also Our Lady of Peace Hospice workers, who were also there when needed, as well as Redeemer Elder Care Staff, Chaplains and Nurses who cared for her.
