Obituary of Lynne Usher

Lynne (Brown) Usher, born February 4, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, in Duluth, Minnesota. Lynne was a writer at heart, finding beauty in words and in the world around her. She had a deep love for flowers, always tending to her garden with care, and she found pure joy in hearing the laughter of her family. Her wry sense of humor with live with all of us. Lynne’s greatest joy came in the form of her grandchildren—Jazmyn, Aiden, Annie, Charlotte, Maddi, and Blakely—who brought immense light into her life. Her children, Cari, Ryan (Sam), Brett (Ryann), and Kelley, were the center of her world, and she treasured the close bond they shared. Lynne also leaves behind her beloved sister, Nancy (Guy), her ex-husband and lifelong friend, Tim Usher and his sister Anne (Brad), along with many close, long term friends and family that loved her. A heartfelt thank you to her daughter Kelley for her unwavering loving care, to the ICU team at Essentia for their compassion and dignity during her final days. Special thanks to the Pain Clinic of Lake Superior where she was treated with kindness. Lynne’s warmth, wisdom, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, laughter, and magic with words will continue to bloom in the lives she touched.

A service will be held in the spring to celebrate her life, with details to be shared with close family and friends. In lieu of any condolences or gifts, please give to your local woman's or homeless shelter in Lynne’s honor.
