Obituary of Raymond Carl Benson
In Loving Memory of Raymond "Mickle" Carl Benson
August 3, 1947 – March 21, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond "Mickle" Carl Benson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully on March 21, 2025, at the age of 77. Mickle was born in Duluth MN, to the late Raymond and Dagney Benson (Bredenberg).
Mickle was a veteran, who served in the Vietnam War. He was known for his kindness, sense of humor, and a passion for motorcycles. In his younger years, he was a member of the BPMs Motorcycle Club and spent his time riding and building motorcycles with his fellow club members.
Mickle was a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pamela Benson, his four children, Nicholas Benson, Julie Falcucci (husband Fred), Laurie Benson, and Sara Taylor (husband Chris). He is survived by six cherished grandchildren: Tony, Harrison, Annika, Liu, Signe and Imogene. He was a loving brother to his siblings Kurt (wife Linda), Ted (wife Susie) and Julie (husband Tom), and an adored uncle to several nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at the Cremation Society of Duluth, Minnesota, on Thursday, April 3, 2025, with visitation at 1:00 p.m., service at 2:00 p.m. and reception to follow. Flowers should be sent directly to the funeral home or in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, which Mickle supported for many years.
The family wants to provide a special thank you to Essentia Health Hospice Program and Julie Bepler for his immaculate care in his last weeks.
