James Richard Grossman Obituary

James (Jim) Richard Grossman, 78, of Dassel, MN passed away on March 19, 2025. Born on March 7, 1947, to Richard (Dick) and Nadine (Dean) Grossman in Minneapolis, MN, he was a devoted husband to Jan and a loving father to Amy and Kelley.


Jim was hard-working and dedicated. After working for over 20 years at Road Rescue as the Vice President of Human Resources, Jim owned his own business, LifeStar Business Services where he provided Accounting, Insurance, and HR services to small businesses.


Jim, for over 30 years, found fulfillment as a volunteer EMT and Police for the cities of Richfield and Bloomington. He also enjoyed paddling across the lake in his canoe with his four-legged companions to fish.


He is survived by his wife Jan, daughter Amy (Leonard), granddaughters Leah and Stephanie as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.


He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kelley, and brother Steve.


A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, April 25th at 1:00 p.m. at the Cremation Society in Edina, 7110 France Ave S. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Big Birch Lake Association or to Twin Cities Pet Rescue, a cause close to Jim’s heart.
