It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dimitri Daniel Ortiz, age 33, on March 17, 2025 ☘️ Dimitri’s untimely death leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew him. His vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering kindness touched the lives of many.

Dimitri was born on December 6, 1991, in Minneapolis, MN and grew up surrounded by family and friends who adored him. He had a natural gift for making people feel special, always ready with a smile, a joke, a crazy dance move, or a listening ear. Dimitri's compassion knew no bounds, and he was always there for those in need, whether offering his time, his help, or simply his presence.

Dimitri was the proud brother of four brothers and three sisters, who will cherish the memories of their time together and the bond they shared. Dimitri was also an uncle to 4 nephews and 2 nieces. His extended family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to cross his path will remember his spirit forever.

Though his time on this earth was far too short, he lived each day with purpose. 

He is preceded in death by Grandfather Dale Turner and Grandfather Anthony Ortiz.

He is survived by his parents, Tony and Darcie Ortiz, his brothers, Prometheus Huff, Jesse Ortiz (Sharon), Tony Ortiz Jr., Preston Ortiz, his sisters, Sarena Ortiz, Jasmine Ortiz (Jose), Journey Ortiz, his beloved nieces, Mia, Baby Sarena and nephews Izzy, Jovani, Jasper, and Joseph, Grandmothers; Delores Turner, Helen Ortiz, aunts, uncles, cousins, treasured aunt Darla (Sug), dearest cousin Whitney, and dear friend Gerry Smith, all of whom will miss him dearly. 

A celebration of Dimitri’s life will be held on April 6, 2025 at 3150 Lexington Ave North, Shoreview MN 55126 at 1:00 PM with service starting at 2:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories, reflect on the love he gave, and find comfort in one another during this difficult time.

Dimitri’s bright light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
