She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David; parents, John and Ruth; brothers, Curt and John; brothers-in-law, Wayne, Glenn, Roger, Bobby, and Gary; sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Delores, Lorraine, Angel, Pat, and Virginia; and nephews, Edward and Tom.

Born in Decorah, Iowa, Evelyn—affectionately known as Lovely Lena the Norwegian—was raised in St. Paul and attended Humboldt and Monroe High Schools. She worked as a nurse’s aide before spending many years as a proofreader at H.M. Smyth Co. in St. Paul. She and her beloved Swede, David, were married for 49 wonderful years, raising their children in Mendota Heights and later enjoying many retirement years in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Evie was the most patient, kind, and loving mother and grandmother. She found immense joy in doting on her children and especially her grandchildren. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed.

A special thank you to the staff at Havenwood of Burnsville, where she was a resident for the past four years.

A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held on Saturday, March 22, at 2:00 PM at Havenwood of Burnsville, 14401 Grand Avenue, Burnsville, MN.
