Obituary of Marjorie Reinhold
Marjorie Reinhold
Marjorie Reinhold, age 93, passed away peacefully on January 31st, 2025, at her residence in Duluth, MN. Margie was born in Minneapolis on July 24, 1931, and was blessed with loving parents and a cherished sister. She carried fond memories from her childhood, of hot summer days spent swimming in Lake Washington, snowy winters filled with sledding and skating, and many treasured years spent gathering with the family she so adored. She attended Minnehaha Academy and later Gustavus Adolphus College, where she forged valuable friendships. She fell in love with a kind and witty man, Curt, and the two of them went on to marry and have four children together.
Jesus commanded his followers to “love one another as I have loved you”. These words inspired Margie, who offered love, care and friendship to countless people. Margie generously donated her time to serving her community and engaged in a variety of volunteer activities through her church. For many years, she volunteered for Community Emergency Services Food Shelf in Minneapolis. Along with her husband, Margie also led a support and friendship group through their church that served individuals and families with mental illness.
Margie’s calendar was always brimming with social engagements and other activities. She cherished opportunities to connect with the many people who were dear to her. She also adored Bible studies, Christian concerts, water aerobics, and spending time at the family cabin at Lake Washington.
Margie was a skilled artist who had an eye for beauty. She loved painting with water colors, rosemaling, and embellishing furniture with decorative painting. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and interior decorating.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mildred Broberg, her husband, Curtis Reinhold, and her sister, JoAnn Borgfelt, as well as many cherished companion animals.
She is survived by her beloved children, Pamela Johnson (Tom), Rebecca Martin, Daniel Reinhold and Kathe Reinhold. Her memory lives on through her grandchildren, Heidi, Nate, Jamaica, Bjorn, Maria, Tyler, Sean, and Izaak, as well as six great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Park Terrace in Buffalo, Marywood in Duluth, and St. Croix Hospice, also in Duluth, for their excellent care. Their compassion and support enabled Margie to live a full and happy life.
A celebration of Margie’s life will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota Duluth on May 16, 2025 at 11:00 with Visitation one hour prior to the service. She will be buried alongside her husband at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
