John Lewis Tepley

April 16, 1971 - January 30, 2025

 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Lewis Tepley, who died on January 30, 2025 at the age of 53. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. John was born on April 16, 1971 in Chattanooga, TN to George and Mary Anne Tepley. 

Throughout his life, John, also known as Uncle Bobo, was known for his love of golf, his love of adventure but especially for his love to his family, friends, and eight nieces and nephews. John lived life to the fullest everyday. He truly had a heart of gold who made everyone he met feel loved. He had such a special place in his heart for his Holly Hills family, Notre Dame family, MTSU family and his Beaver Creek family. He made a lasting impact on all who knew him and he will be deeply missed. To quote John - “live your life - live it with no worries - and always know Uncle Bobo has your back, no matter what.”

John is survived by his mother, Mary Anne Tepley, sisters, Anne Marie Kerr, Angie Cothern, Amy Arnold, brother-in-laws, David Kerr, Brandon Cothern, Chris Arnold, his eight nieces and nephews, Katelyn Cothern, Ryan Kerr, Drew Cothern, Madeline Kerr, Madison Arnold, Mallory Arnold, Molly Arnold, and Bailey Cothern, and his wife Jeana Tepley. 

He was preceded in death by his father, George Thomas Tepley and his grandparents John R. Richards (Diggy), Dorothy Richards (Mu), George L. Tepley (Pop) and Audrey Tepley (Grandma). 

A celebration of life will be held on February 15, 2025. The visitation will be 11-1pm and the funeral mass at 1pm, both at OLPH Church in Chattanooga TN.
