Obituary of Princess Burditte Norman

Princess “Sweet Thang” Burditte Norman passed away peacefully on January 3rd 2025, in her Maple Grove, MN home surrounded by loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellen and Eugene Burditte and her husband of 50 years, Hernondez Norman. Princess is survived by her children: daughters Celeste Norman-Jones (Willie), Sharon Birkeland, and son, Christopher Norman; granddaughters: Geleyna Jones, Zoe Belden-Jones (Zachary) and Lillie Jones: 3 Great grand-hildren (Kendrick, Athena, & Aries) and her dog she adored; Bella. She was born in Belton, Texas on January 3rd; the baby of 15 older sisters and brothers who also precede her in death. She lived up to her nickname, “Sweet Thang” by enjoying sweet treats. She loved reading, flowers, traveling the world as an Army wife and her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family. Those who knew her, knew that she was smart, could tell very funny stories, stylish dresser, and an amazing cook. The rest of us also knew her as a proud Mom, Oma, Big Momma, and Texan. Her Football Sunday End Zone dances will be missed.

True to form, she requested a party instead of a memorial, so join us for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at Arbor Glen Community Center, 9325 Garland Lane North, Maple Grove, MN 55311.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Humane Society in Golden Valley, MN would be appreciated.
