Jerry graduated from De La Salle high school in Minneapolis in 1949. After graduation Jerry began his career at Paper Calmenson in St. Paul, yet the onset of the Korean War resulted in his years of very prideful service in the Army. Upon honorable discharge from the Army, Jerry stayed active in numerous Veteran’s Associations. These included Korean War Veterans, Combat Infantryman’s Association, 7th Infantry Regiment, VFW Post 363, and past National President of the Society of the Third Infantry Division.

Jerry returned to his employment at Paper Calmenson after his service in the Army where he worked until retiring in 1997, totaling 47 years of employment history. This included being a Union Officer with IUE Local 1042. His retirement years were kept active with being a President of the St. Paul RLF Retiree Council and Vice President of the MN State Retiree Council AFL-CIO.

Jerry was also involved with many volunteer activities during his retirement years. He was actively involved with the Fridley Historical Society, the Anoka County Historical Society, and the Minnesota Historical Society. Jerry was a founding member of St. William Catholic Church in Fridley and was a Life Member of the Knight of Columbus Council #4381.

A Celebration of Life Visitation is planned for Wednesday February 12th at The Church of St. William in Fridley MN, with the Funeral Service to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations in his memory be made to The Church of St. William or any military service support organization.
