Nancy L. Stoll passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving daughters. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Katherine, Susan, Karen, brother; John. Nancy is survived by her daughters; Stephanie Westrum and Nicole Westrum, grandson; Marek, sister; Diane, brothers; Michael, David, and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 11, 1967 to Kenneth and Dolores (Lindblom) Stoll. She graduated from Park Center High School and attended college at St. Cloud State, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Nancy started her teaching career shortly after at Plymouth Creek Elementary. She took a brief pause from teaching and worked in the mortgage business where she gained life-long skills and knowledge. Ultimately, her love of education led her to resume her career in 2014 in the St. Michael-Albertville School District. Nancy had a passion for education and said she always knew she wanted to be a teacher from the time she was a young girl. Nancy took great pride in watching her students learn and grown. She was a dedicated educator and advocator for all.

Nancy was known for her love of the outdoors and adventure. She enjoyed almost every outdoor activity; hiking, camping, canoeing, birdwatching, grilling, swimming. Nancy spent countless hours tending to her garden, and the copious amounts of indoor plants. If you ever had a question about a type of flower or tree, she always knew the answer. To say she had a green thumb was an understatement. During the summers, Nancy was sure to be booked with camping trips. Some of her favorites places to visit were the Boundary waters, Colorado, Montana, and Washington State.

Nancy valued relationships with her family and friends. She was the family “glue”- bringing everyone together with a delicious homecooked meal and hosting family holidays and gatherings. She never missed an opportunity to enjoy a competitive board game, or spend time in conversation. Nancy especially enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandson. They shared many wonderful memories from traveling, to sporting events, and countless hours of card games. One of Nancy’s absolute favorites were wheelchair rides with her grandson, Marek. They were always sure to be going at full speed, zipping up and down the halls. She was most proud of her girls and encouraged them to experience all that life had to offer.

While ALS presented many difficulties, Nancy was constantly determined to problem solve and find new ways to adapt to these changes. She continued to stay social and enjoyed the simple things in life. Nancy’s battle with ALS was one of great bravery. She is a true inspiration, and displayed the definition of strength. Nancy made a lasting impact on everyone who knew her and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, adventure, and laughter. Our family would like to extend a special thank you to Nancy’s caregivers and the Triniti Hospice team. Thank you for spending quality time with Nancy, and helping her stay comfortably at home.
