Michael Gordon Fremming of Chanhassen, MN, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025, at the age of 77.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota

7110 France Avenue South, Edina, MN 55435

on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Mike was born in Bismarck, ND, on Feb. 2, 1947, to Gordon and Margaret Fremming. Growing up in Bismarck, he enjoyed running around his neighborhood with friends, staying outside until the streetlights came on, and causing mischief as boys do. He graduated from Bismarck High School in 1965 and later joined the U.S. Navy serving aboard the U.S.S. Dixon as a 2nd Class Petty Officer. After being honorably discharged, Mike worked for AT&T in Bismarck before moving to Minnesota in 1988, where he worked in voice and data communications for several companies before retiring from RBC Wealth Management in 2013. He enjoyed puttering around the house and in the yard, travelling, going to movies, spending time with family and friends, fostering puppies, and telling bad jokes. He also loved his part-time job at the Hazeltine Golf Course as a divot dude. Most of all he was so proud of his kids and loved talking about them and their accomplishments. He always felt good when they asked for his advice or help. He never shied away from trying to fix anything; cars, plumbing, electrical, lawn mowers – he’d tackle it all.

Mike is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, Chanhassen; sister, Kathy (Roger) Vetter, West Fargo, ND; children, Jena (Mark) Gray, Marc (Sarah) Fremming, and Jeffrey Fremming all of Bismarck, ND; six grandchildren, Brandon (fiancé Danielle Hunerdosse) and Gunnar Arteseros; Sidney (fiancé John Ashley) Larson and Avery Fremming; Cameron and Claire Fremming; three great grandchildren, Scarlett, Harper, and Sawyer Arteseros; and his beloved dog, Barkley.

Burial will take place in Bismarck, ND, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Animal Humane Society.
