Michele Rene Cohen passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, in Duluth, Minnesota. She was born in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, where she developed a lifelong love for animals and nature, traits that defined her kind and compassionate spirit. 

Michele dedicated many years to her career as a beautician before transitioning into retail and ultimately retiring from JC Penney. Her work ethic and warm demeanor left a lasting impression on those she encountered throughout her professional life. 

Michele was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Gould and James Gould. She is survived by her loving partner, Tom; her daughters Melanie Anderson (Harley) and Samantha Cohen (Sean); and her son James Smith. Michele also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren—Ariel (Brady), Brandon, Hailey, Tegan, Madison, and Brianna—as well as two beloved great-grandchildren, Evalynn and Wesley.

A private memorial will be held by the family.
