Obituary of Ruth Helen Satchell
In Loving Memory of Ruth Satchell
June 24, 1956 – December 28, 2024
Ruth Satchell, beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 28th, 2024, after a courageous battle with an aggressive form of cancer. She was 68 years old.
Born on June 24th, 1956, in Redding, California, Ruth was the cherished daughter of Ernest Satchell and Harriet Clement. From a young age, she displayed a love for creativity and adventure, qualities that would define her life and bring joy to those around her.
An avid and talented quilter, Ruth spent countless hours sewing intricate quilts and pillowcases, pouring her love and care into every stitch. Her handmade creations became cherished gifts for friends and family, each one a testament to her generous spirit and artistic talent.
Ruth’s love of life was evident in her passion for travel. Whether embarking on a grand journey or taking a simple day trip, she embraced every opportunity to explore the world around her. The ocean held a special place in her heart, and lighthouses—symbols of guidance and hope—were among her favorite sights.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Harriet Satchell; her sister, Elsie; her brother, Troy; and her niece, Christine Nelson. She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory, including her sisters, Arlene Copeland and Loraine Nelson; her nieces, Susann Fahey (Adam) and their children, Kathryn Kasiko and her children, and Mary Bock and her child; and her cousin, Mikki Broadhead, and her children.
Ruth’s kind heart, creative spirit, and love for life touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A private memorial service will be held in her honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a cancer research organization or a charity of your choice in Ruth's memory.
May Ruth find peace in the eternal light of the heavens, with the sound of ocean waves and the guidance of lighthouses she so dearly loved.
