Obituary of Lisa Kay Moore
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lisa Kay Moore, age 49, of Prior Lake, on December 28, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with Addison’s disease. Lisa was born in Duluth, MN, on April 15, 1975, to Michael and Mary Scheper.
She grew up in Duluth and was a proud graduate of Duluth East High School, Class of 1993. Lisa later earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Metro State University. She dedicated her career as an executive assistant contributing her skills to various organizations in healthcare, science, and technology.
A loving mother, sister, wife, and friend, Lisa was known for her warmth, sharp sense of humor, and generosity. She had a passion for reading and was rarely seen without a book or Kindle in hand. Lisa also enjoyed crocheting, creating intricate, beautiful pieces such as socks, scarves, and sweaters—many of which she lovingly gifted to friends or donated to charity.
Lisa was an avid lover of the outdoors, cherishing time spent at the lake, soaking up the sun, and appreciating the peace and privacy of her acreage property in Prior Lake. She enjoyed experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen and was an enthusiastic fan of dark TV series, often rewatching her favorites multiple times. Her sharp wit, sarcastic humor, and unwavering courage will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Michael Scheper and Mary (Scheper) O’Connell; her stepfather, Daryll O’Connell; her father-in-law, Paul Moore; and her grandmother, “Grandma Kay.” She is survived by her daughter, Megan Scheper; her sons, Michael Scheper and Mason Moore; her former husband, Joe Moore; her sister, Nicole Scheper; her niece, Alyssa Scheper; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Lisa’s life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Addison’s Disease Foundation in her honor would be greatly appreciated.
Lisa was beautiful, inside and out. Her spirit, generosity, and the love she shared with those around her will never be forgotten.
