It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kent Rockhold on January 3, 2025. 

He passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.

Kent was born December 15, 1954, in Pekin, Illinois to Ken and Mary (Louchart) Rockhold. 

As a child he lived in Illinois, Indiana & California before the family settled in Minneapolis, 

Minnesota. He graduated from Minneapolis Washburn High School in 1973. Kent had a few 

jobs in 20’s and early 30’s but found his calling with North Memorial as an EMS dispatcher 

in 1992 where he stayed until he retired.

Kent enjoyed many sports, but his favorites were golf and horseracing. He also enjoyed going 

to art shows with his partner Melissa. Kent loved having dinners with his family and watching 

his grandsons in their many sporting events. Above all, he loved God and read his Bible every day.

Kent is survived by his son Joe (Kelly), daughter Maria, brother Michael, grandsons Mason and 

Dominic and partner Melissa. 

A memorial service is planned for January 25 at the Cremation Society in Edina from 1-4 PM.
