Obituary of Robert "Bob" Arnold Meyers
MEYERS Robert “Bob” Arnold, Beloved Husband, Father, Grandpa and Great Grandpa, Passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 4th, 2025. Bob was born on May 5th, 1937 and lived a fulfilling 87 years.
He was a US Army Veteran, who worked 37 years with Great Northern/Burlington Railroad before retiring early to spend time with his family. Robert married the love of his life, Nancy Wegwerth, on May 16th, 1964 and had three children, Candyce, Carrie, and Craig. While watching his children grow, and eventually grandchildren and great grandchildren, he enjoyed being a handyman, gardening, reading, and playing cards. He was loved and appreciated by his family, who will remember him for his meticulous organization, great hair, and witty banter with his wife of 60 years. Bob spent the past 22 winters in Mesa, Arizona, where each of his days were filled with lawn bowling, golf, bingo, and socializing with friends.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; children, Candyce Bittle (Curt), Carrie Rivard (Billy), and Craig (Dawn); four granddaughters, Carlie Czaplewski (Zach), Cassidy Armour (Evan), Mackenna, and Danielle; and great granddaughters, Averie, Laney, and Mila, with another expected in March.
Bob’s family is choosing to honor his wishes and forego a funeral. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Bob’s name.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Bob/Dad/Grandpa/”G-Bob” on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, one day before what would have been his 88th birthday. Please feel free to come celebrate his life at the Hugo American Legion Banquet Hall, 5383 140th St. N., Hugo, MN 55038, from 1-3 p.m.
