Obituary of Greg Alan Hornburg
Greg Alan Hornburg, age 55 of Litchfield, MN, passed away on Friday, December 13th, 2024, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the Litchfield Eagles Club at 389 CSAH 34, Litchfield, MN from 2pm-6pm on Saturday, January 25th.
Greg Hornburg, the son of Carl “Bud” and Joanne “Jody” (Bauman) Hornburg was born on November 30th, 1969, in Chicago Heights, Illinois. When he was 10 years old his family moved to Grand Rapids, MN where he completed high school and graduated from Itasca Community College with an associate degree.
Greg went on to work at More 4 in Redwing, MN and later to be transferred to Litchfield, MN where he worked for 25 years.
While working at the store he met the love of his life, Aimee Jacques. They were married on September 21st, 1996. During the 28 years of marriage, they were blessed with two children.
In 2015, Greg went on to work for Central Community Transit (CCT). From riders to coworkers, Greg truly loved what he did and touched thousands of lives while working for CCT.
Greg enjoyed watching movies, tv shows, sports, & horse racing. He spent all his time with family and friends. Greg had a passion for fishing, spending vacations on the North Shore, and enjoyed watching his children play video games, joining them on occasion. Greg went to the Renaissance Festival in Minnesota almost every year since 1995 and he would buy a mug to commemorate it. Greg had a love for music and could play the piano by ear.
Greg is survived by his wife Aimee; daughter Emilee and son Zachery; brother and sisters, Gay (Dennis) Dehning, Guy Hornburg, Gyl (Bob) Anello, and Gina Schaar; mother-in-law Sue Jacques and brother-in-law Bruce (Patti Jo) Jacques; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Joanne and his father-in-law Stanley Jacques.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
