James H Robinson

Age 87, of St Paul (lifelong east-sider) passed away surrounded by family on January 3, 2025. “Jim”/“Butch” was preceded in death by his ex-wife Audrey Robinson. He is survived by long-time partner Elaine Brummund; daughters Bobbie Richardson (Former son-in-law Steve and Becki (Glen) Porter: grandchildren, Rachel, Stephanie & Joseph Richardson, Jared (Candace) Porter & Jacob (Yok) Porter.

Jim proudly served in the US Army at Fort Sill, OK from 1961-1963. He retired after 40+ years at West Publishing Co working first as a pressman and then as a press mechanic.He loved fixing and working on any kind of engine. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. He loved cheering on his grandchildren playing sports and was very proud of the amazing adults they have become.
Our family would like to thank the staff at St John’s ER and hospital and Region’s ER and hospital for the exceptional care provided to Jim as his health declined prior to death. We also extend heartfelt thanks to the caring and professional staff from Health Partners Hospice Care as they assisted us in accommodating Jim’s wishes to die at home.

Celebration of life to be held at Obb’s Bar 1347 Burns Ave St Paul Sunday March 23,2025 from 1:00-5:00 pm. 

Jim will be laid to rest at a private interment at Fort Snelling this spring.
