Obituary of Scott Dennis Blackmore
Scott Dennis Blackmore, 46, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 31, 2024.
Scott was born on July 28, 1978 in Minneapolis and was the first child of Dennis and Sheryl (Ostby) Blackmore. Scott grew up in Bloomington and attended Jefferson High School. After high school, Scott attended one year at UMD in Duluth before he decided to join the workforce full time. Scott eventually found his passion job as a bartender and moved his way up to restaurant manager. He had a great love of people which made him a good fit in the restaurant world. Scott enjoyed sports all his life. He enjoyed golfing with his buddies, and sometimes his dad. He really enjoyed watching professional basketball and football, which led to his love of fantasy football. Scott also enjoyed going to casinos and was one of the luckiest guys around when it came to that. All these things led back to the things that mattered most to Scott which was his family and his circle of friends. Scott enjoyed hanging out with his buddies, going to someone’s cabin and even the occasional card game with friends. His friends were very important to him. 30+ years of friendship made them more family, than just buddies. Scott loved spending time with his puppy nephew, Norman. They were the best of friends and loved playing fetch and tug of war in the backyard. Scott enjoyed reading, especially true crime, mystery and SciFi novels by Stephen King. He was also a certified Star Wars and Star Trek fan.
Scott’s life was cut short, but his big heart couldn’t be stopped. All the way up until the end, Scott was doing for others. His last selfless act was to be an organ donor. His untimely passing opened the door for other families to have more quality time with their loved ones, something that would have been incredibly meaningful to Scott.
