Obituary of Ann Bergliot Rice

Ann Bergliot (Martin) Rice was found deceased of natural causes in her apartment in Bloomington, MN, on 26 December, 2024. She was 74 years old. She was born in Marquette, MI, on Columbus Day 1950. She subsequently lived for two years in Brainerd, MN, before her family moved to Edina, MN. She graduated from Edina High School. In her youth, she travelled with her parents extensively to Canada and the East Coast and spent a year in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. She married in 1977 and divorced 6 years later. She had no children.

Ann was an avid reader and a regular patron of the Hennepin County Library. Her social circle was small but important to her.

Her parents and older brother, David, predeceased her. She leaves her elder brother, Terry Martin and his wife, Molly (Miller) Martin, of Austin, Texas; a niece, Allegra Martin, of Worcester, MA; and a nephew, Adrian Martin and his wife Ruth Schneider, of Rochester, NY, and their three sons.

Ann’s ashes will join her parents in Northfield. Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
